Plunge begins at 5 p.m.
Join us to kickoff the 2021 Polar Plunge season. Mayor Tergin and Sheriff Wheeler invite you to join them in Jefferson City on December 2, 2020. Each plunger is asked to raise a minimum $1,000 for the first official dip of the winter! Will the Mayor or Sheriff have the winning team this year?
This "unbearable" event is a unique opportunity to show your bravery as you support local Special Olympics athletes by plunging into the frigid winter waters. Proceeds benefit Special Olympics Missouri. SOMO exists to provide year-round sports and training opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities and our athletes need you to get involved. Become a coach, volunteer, recruit a future athlete and learn how you can make a difference!
Participants must be at least 10 years old and raise a minimum of $1,000 by event day. The Polar Plunge Power Hour is a project of the Law Enforcement Torch Run(R) for Special Olympics Missouri. Cole County Sheriff's Department is proud to host this event.
Polar Plunge is a family friendly event. Special Olympics Missouri promotes inclusion as a way of life for not only our athletes but everyone at our events. We reserve the right to ask anyone to alter/remove their costume if found offensive or harmful to those in attendance.
