The SOMO Training for Life Campus

The Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO) Training for Life Campus is being built now to provide the first-ever true home for current and future generations of Missouri athletes with intellectual disabilities. For nearly 50 years, SOMO athletes have used borrowed fields and facilities to train, practice and compete. Currently, there are more than 15,000 athletes participating in Special Olympics Missouri.

The campus will be the largest such facility in scope in the United States. The campus will be set on more than 16 acres in Jefferson City, and will offer year-round training opportunities for athletes, coaches and volunteers from throughout Missouri. Read more about the location here.

The campus is designed to accommodate training, practice and competitive events for some of SOMO's most popular sports programs. Facilities include a multi-purpose arena, a track, tennis courts, softball field, wellness trail, soccer fields, classrooms, and multi-sport training areas, just to name a few. As a whole, the facility exceeds ADA requirements for safety and accessibility.

The Training for Life Campus will benefit all of SOMO's supporters and participants, and incorporate special recognition for athletes and donors who support the Special Olympics movement.
