Welcome to Cade Marian's Fundraising Page for the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games!
Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I'm excited to have been selected to experience the opportunity of a lifetime and I am asking for your support! I will be participating as 1 of 4 golfers representing the State of Missouri in the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games in Seattle, WA! I've been working toward this goal since I was 10 years old. There will be over 4,000 athletes & coaches from across the U.S. competing in 14 different events to show how hard work and dedication can pay off.
In order to attend the USA Games, every athlete needs to raise money. I will need to raise $6,000. My Dad will be my golfing partner (a.k.a. Unified Partner) and we will play as a team using an alternate shot format. Your donation will support our travel to Seattle, lodging, uniforms, equipment, training camps, food, etc. Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO) has made it easy for you to support me:
1. You can donate directly online via this secure fundraising page on the right-hand side of this screen; or
2. You can send a check payable to SOMO, with my name on the memo line (very impt to place my name on the memo line). Then mail your check to: Special Olympics Missouri, Attn: Jennifer Krumm, 2945 S. Brentwood, St. Louis, MO 63144.
I started golfing when I was 7... one day, I started watching the Masters on TV and was hooked. Over the past 9 years, I've received some great instruction from my coaches at Crystal Springs Quarry Golf Course and some amazing PGA instructors over 2 summers at a Nike Golf Camp in Nebraska. I am the only person with Down syndrome to have participated in any of the nationwide Nike week-long golf camps. I've also played on our Parkway North High School team the past 2 years, and look forward to competing next spring as a junior!
Special Olympics not only allows my friends and me us to competitively participate in sports, it allows us the opportunity to make new friends and practice our leadership skills both on and off the practice field. We learn about advocacy and sportsmanship. Sharing in team competition, especially at this level, is something that my friends and I are not always given the chance to do.
I am asking, will you please donate to SOMO in honor of me? Any amount is appreciated and no amount is too much or too small.
Thank you in advance for considering a donation, and celebrating my abilities and passion through the power of sports!!
